We Are A Place To Belong, A Welcoming Community
At Holy Name,
Our belonging place is the faith community we call the Church. Here, we are given space to grow, to search, and to build a relationship with God and God's people. We are a Christian People. With other Christian believers, we look to Jesus Christ as the heart of our community. God, is for us, someone who touches our lives a Creator, Redeemer and Holy Spirit. Jesus' message of all inclusive love identifies us and gives us life.
We Are a Biblical Faith...
We claim the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament as our personal faith history and as the living Word of God, our source of Spiritual nourishment and truth. We are a Worshiping Community and the Eucharist is our jewel heritage from Jesus, who said: "Do this in memory of me." We do not forget. For us, to celebrate the Eucharist is to celebrate our oneness with God and with each other, and with our brothers and sisters throughout the world.

We are a Neighborhood Church...
It is here that we are born into the Body of Christ...into the Family of God, and celebrate moments of growth, of failings, of joys and sorrows with our neighbors and friends as witnesses and partners. The Catholic Church is home to us throughout the world, but it is especially here in our Holy Name Parish Community we have our roots.
We are a Worldwide Church...
The Catholic Church has endured since the time of Christ. Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI is our visible symbol of unity, our Bishop, Paul Swain, our tangible contact with the Apostles of Christ. Our Church is no stranger to human weaknesses. But we believe the Holy Spirit is always alive in the Church, calling us to conversion and to be faithful to Christ's teachings. Through the spiritual leadership of our pastor and staff, and our many lay participants, we strive to be all that God calls us to be.

We are a Way of Life
Though the Church is our place of special meeting with God and God's People, it is in our daily lives, through our personal and family prayers that we stay tuned to God's call. Our awareness of God's personal concern enables us to take the risk of following Christ with a caring heart. We cherish life as a divine gift and our stands on political, social and economic and health care issues all take their direction from this reverence for life. This concern for all creatures demands that we care about those on the margins of society as Jesus did. Our history reflects that concern, our present energies are directed toward that heroic call.
