CHANGE A LIFE IN 40 DAYS:  LENTEN ACTIVITY FOR GRADES 7-10:
Orphan fact and prayer:
* About 15 million children are AIDS orphans, a number that is expected to double in the next few years.
* "Heavenly Father, we pray for all the AIDS orphans around the world.  May you be with them and comfort them.  Give them favor in the eyes of relatives and neighbors, so they will be accepted and cared for.  If they are sick, ease their pain and bring care givers into their lives who will help them and give them the medical care that they need.  Most of all, Lord, let them know they are not alone, but that you are with them each day.  In the name of Jesus we pray.  Amen."
Scripture reading:  Mark 10:  13-16
"Count your blessings" activity:
Count the number of hours you spend in school this week.  Bring a penny to CCD class on Wednesday for each hour.  We raised $62.95 the first week.  Our goal is $365.00.

STUDENTS IN PRESCHOOL AND GRADES 1-6 will again be participating in the Heifer International Project during Lent.  We will collect donations each week during class time so that poor families around the world can receive livestock and training to help them become self-reliant.  In turn, the families "pass on the gift" of knowledge and one or more of their animals' offspring to perpetuate the cycle of help.  Students can earn money through chores at home or from their allowance as a Lenten good deed.  For more information, check their website at www.heifer.org

PLEASE TAKE THE NAME OF A 2ND GRADER who is preparing for First Communion and pray for them over the next couple of months.  First Communion is April 25th.  The envelopes are located on the Time and Talent counter.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a very special time in your life as a Christian.  It does not matter how many people are there or how many presents you get from others, the most important thing that happened to you that day was that you received the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  It was a day between you and the Lord and your relationship that started with your baptism was strengthened with the gifts of wisdom, understanding, right judgment, courage, knowledge, reverence, and wonder and awe.

You are now an adult member of your church.  You are called to give witness to your faith in Jesus Christ through word and action.  Always start with the way you treat your family.  Then be His presence in the world helping to fulfill his mission to bring all people to God.
